Liberty Lake Watershed Forum
On September 18th, 2007, The Lands Council hosted a Watershed Forum at the Liberty Lake County Park. The event was co-sponsored by Greenstone Homes and Neighborhoods, Liberty Lake Sewar and Water District and Washington Department of Ecology. It was a beautiful, cool evening in the Park. We even saw a few deer wander by! About 25 residents attended and won some cool prizes, such as water conservation kits, irrigation monitors and rain gauges.
Bijay Adams, Water Quality Manager with Liberty Lake Sewar and Water District, spoke briefly about the history of Liberty Lake water quality and the restoration work completed in the past 20-30 years. He answered questions about Eurasian milfoil and other issues associated with the lake quality.
Brian Walker, Watershed Program Director at The Lands Council, spoke to ways that people can conserve water -- even in the fall and winter.

Brook Beeler with the Washington State Department of Ecology engaged folks in a discussion of ways to conserve water inside/outside their homes. She also spoke to the Liberty Lake Watershed Pledge.
