Help Achieve New Wilderness in the Inland Northwest!

The next several months could offer the best chance to secure added protection for the wild lands of the Colville National Forest in almost 25 years!  These amazing forests are home to some of the state's most fantastic wilderness trails in the Kettle Range, Sullivan Lake area, and Okanogan Highlands and provide critical habitat for rare wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, lynx, wolverine, and the only remaining woodland caribou in the lower-48 states. 

For the first time ever, the Colville National Forest is asking the public for input on which of 21 inventoried roadless areas (encompassing more than 230,000 acres) it should recommend to Congress for wilderness designation. Your voice can make a difference in which and how many of these undeveloped wild lands ultimately receive an agency recommendation for a wilderness designation. Currently, only 3% of the 1,000,000-acre Colville National Forest is protected wilderness.

Speak up for new Wilderness by attending these upcoming meetings. The Collaboration meetings will examine three different wild areas in the Colville (see info below). The Integration meeting will bring everyone together to share ideas.
