The purpose of this site is to create an inventory of mature conifers that have been removed from our community, understanding that some trees need to be removed because of disease or are dangerous.

We are collecting information about urban logging in the Spokane community. If you have witnessed tree removal activity in our area since 1990, please email us the following information:

  • Filtering airborne pollutants
  • Conserving energy by shading buildings
  • Reducing stormwater runoff
  • Fighting greenhouse effect and removing atmospheric carbon dioxide
  • Conserving water and reducing soil erosion 
  • Modifying local climate
  • Increasing economic stability
  • Reducing noise pollution
  • Creating wildlife and plant diversity
