· Guest of honor, Felix Aripa, Coeur d'Alene Tribal
Elder will share the history of his people and the importance of beaver and
other wildlife to the local way of life and culture.
· Join
BiJay Adams, Liberty Lake Sewer and Water District Manager, for an easy hike to
the beaver dams. Beaver activity has helped restore native wetland plants
to the area, filters water impurities, offers wildlife viewing, and more.
· Take
a language lesson from Raymond Brinkman, Director of Coeur d'Alene Language
Department, in the Coeur d'Alene language that teaches the importance of
watching changes in wildlife and nature to help us be better aware of our
surroundings. A fun activity for kids!
· Learn
plant identification from Joe Cannon, TLC employee, botanist and beaver
enthusiast. Joe will speak on the effects beaver have on native and
invasive plants. He will give a guided plant identification tour near the
beaver dams.
