Kirsten Angell




Kirsten Angell has spent much of the past decade raising a family with her husband, Ethan, volunteering and enjoying the natural places of Alaska, Oregon and Washington. She earned a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University, with the goal of influencing sustainable development methods. Deep connection to the natural world is s
omething she feels is important to the future of life on our planet and much of her recent volunteer work has been focused on getting children outdoors.

 
  Rein Attemann

Rein Attemann is field director for People for Puget Sound.  Rein enjoys hiking,
water sports, backcountry skiing, biking for transportation, cooking, traveling,
and activating
others.

 

Neil Beaver

Neil is a Political Consultant with one of California's most renowned firms in the
Bay area.
He enjoys backpacking, rock climbing and playing with his dogs
Juniper and Gracie.

 

Chris Brandvold

Chris is co-owner of a software company, Keystone Systems, Inc. which specializes in software for the transportation industry. He is a thirty-four year member of Kiwanis, very involved in the Spokane chapters.  Chris and his wife Jan enjoy boating and white water rafting on some of the West's premier rivers. He is an avid skier and loves to travel.

 


Steve Daehlin

Steve Daehlin retired from dentistry in 2007 after having practiced for
30 years in Spokane Valley. Steve's interests are his grandchildren, backpacking, hiking, snow and water skiing, biking, photography, traveling and
gardening.

 

Denny Dellwo - Vice President

Denny Dellwo is an attorney in Spokane. Dennis served 14 years in the
Washington State Legislation as a Representative from the 3rd District.
He was then appointed for 12 years as a member of the Growth
Management Hearings Board. He is now a member of the City of Spokane
Plan Commission.

 
Jim Harless - Treasurer

Jim Harless is a C.P.A. with Schoedel and Schoedel Certified Public
Accountants in Spokane. Jim is an avid outdoorsman, hiker, biker,
cross-country skier, canoeist, and backpacker.

 

Dr. Jeff Hedge

Dr. Jeff Hedge is a  psychiatrist at Inland Psychiatry in Spokane.
Jeff has been actively involved in conservation issues most of his life
and has written on the interface between mental health and the environment.

 
Steve Llewellyn - President

Steve Llewellyn is a retired attorney, high school teacher, and running coach.  Steve and his wife, Mary, who also volunteers at TLC, are avid conservationists and they love to spend time with family and friends as well as skiing, hiking, camping, fly fishing and traveling.

 

Nancy McKay


Nancy is a retired teacher and attorney. She grew up in Curlew and Omak, and received her B.A. and M.A. from Eastern Washington University. She has a J.D. from Gonzaga University. Nancy enjoys playing the piano, cross country skiing, bird watching, traveling, golf, and reading. 

 
Judge Jim Murphy

Judge Jim Murphy recently retired from the Spokane Superior Court bench following service to Spokane County as a judge for 25 years. He is currently a partner in Judicial Mediation Group and serves on the International Court of Arbitration for Sport. Jim is an avid skier, hiker and camper.

 

Jerry Pavia

Jerry is a freelance photographer who has lived in Bonners Ferry, Idaho
the last 36 years.  He worked 11 years in the timber industry before
finding his niche in photographing plants, wildlife, and landscapes.
He and his wife, Ingrid, have been photographing and writing about
the landscape from the Arctic in the Yukon to Yellowstone National Park
the last several years for a travelling exhibition on the importance of the connectivity of large wild landscapes. 

 

Lorie Rambo

Lorie Rambo teaches AP Environmental Science at Lewis and Clark High School. Lorie enjoys hiking with her dogs, backpacking with her husband, barrel racing her horses and gardening.

 

Debbie Reed

Debbie Reed is a Spokane native with family ties to the Northwest for over 150 yrs. She is the CFO of PacifiCAD Inc. a CADD Consulting and Software business she and her husband Ron started over 20 yrs ago. Debbie is mother of 2 and grandmother of 3. She enjoys her family, boating, painting, traveling and taking care of the land and people around her.

 

Julie Schaffer



Julie Schaffer is an attorney at the Center for Justice, where she advocates for low-income people with a variety of civil legal and social issues.  Prior to this, she worked for Snohomish County Prosecutor's Office practicing land use and environmental law.  While attending law school at the University of Washington, Julie interned with a variety of non-profits including Earthjustice, American Rivers and Friends of the San Juans.  She spends her free time backpacking, mountain biking, backcountry skiing, floating rivers, and gardening.

 

Mike Schnell


Mike Schnell recently retired. He is an avid backpacker, mountain climber, hiker, cross-country skier and highpointer (in the pursuit of the highest point in every state; he has reached 49).

 
Tim Sweet - Secretary

Tim Sweet is President of Clearwater Summit Group, a full service
Landscape Design and installation firm, est. 1983.  He is an avid hiker,
skier, paddler and passionately believes in protecting the remaining
wild places on the earth.
