The Fish and Wildlife Service recently announced Critical Habitat Designation for the Canada Lynx that did not include the Kettle Range/Colville National Forest, the Selkirk Mountains, or the Idaho Panhandle National Fore st. There have been numerous recent Lynx sightings in these areas, and they provide quality habitat, and stable snowshoe hare populations that are the mainstay of the Lynx diet. The designation of "critical habitat" is the best tool we have to restore lynx and the places where they live.

Suggested Comment to get you started:
"Full recovery for Canada lynx is very important to me. To ensure the long-term survival and recovery of lynx across America, please designate critical habitat in Washington's Kettle Range (including the Wedge), and Selkirk Mountains (Little Pend Oreille and Salmo-Priest). These areas provide quality habitat, and there have been many recent Lynx sightings in them. Designating these lands as critical habitat ensures that imperiled lynx will find enough food, shelter and seclusion to rebound."
